Atcoflex,
Inc. was formed in 1978 as a spin off of Atco Rubber Products, Inc.
Atco Rubber Products began making specialized hose in 1961 and became
one of the largest suppliers of HVAC and clothes dryer vent hose.
In
1978 Atcoflex, Inc. began making air duct for the automotive industry,
being one of the first to incorporate thermoplastic rubber for such
purposes. The hose was originally designed to replace friction
tape hose, which had been widely used by the automotive industry.
Atcoflex
has designed and constructed it's own unique machinery for the
manufacture of flexible ducting and has also supplied small assemblies
to the big three automakers. Due to this in-house machinery
construction, coupled with a large tooling inventory, Atcoflex has been
able to quickly design and build specialty hoses or make very fast
changes to specifications.
With quality as a watch-word,
Atcoflex began using Statistical Process Control in the early 1980's
and was one of the first company laboratories to be GP-10 Approved by
General Motors.
In
1991 Atcoflex earned Ford's Q1 Award and Chrysler's QE Award in 1992.
In 1994 Atcoflex was one of only three companies to be given the
Partners in Excellence Award by United Technologies Automotive. In 1997
Atcoflex, Inc. achieved registration to QS-9000 and ISO-9002 and is
ISO-14001 compliant. In November, 2004, Atcoflex, Inc. achieved registration
to ISO/TS 16949..
Atcoflex prides itself in delivering a quality product on time at low cost!
